What is photovoltaics for companies?

Photovoltaics for business is an advanced system using photovoltaic technology to convert solar energy into electrical energy. This solution is installed on the premises of a company or commercial facility in order to meet its own energy needs, reduce electricity costs and reduce the negative impact on the environment.

Photovoltaic installations for companies can have different sizes and configurations, depending on the needs and financial capabilities of the company. An important aspect is how much photovoltaics cost, because the price depends on many factors, such as the components used or installation conditions.

Why is it worth investing in photovoltaics in your company?

Lower energy costs

Photovoltaics allows you to reduce your electricity costs, which is especially important in times of rising electricity prices. The new billing system (net-billing) allows companies to sell surplus energy to the grid at market hourly rates.

Sustainable development

More and more companies are implementing social responsibility (ESG) strategies, and the use of renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaics, is becoming an important element of these activities. Reducing CO₂ emissions not only helps protect the environment, but also builds the image of a modern, responsible company.

Modern technologies

Energy storage and intelligent management systems (smart grid) enable companies to use the energy they produce more efficiently. These solutions help to better match production to consumption. Additionally, leasing photovoltaics is a good solution for entrepreneurs who want to implement photovoltaic systems without a large initial payment. Flexible conditions, such as low installments and a longer repayment period, make this option attractive for companies looking to optimize energy costs.

Photovoltaic panels for companies - why is choosing them profitable?

Nowadays, electricity prices are constantly rising - these increases affect not only households, they also hit entrepreneurs hard. In their case, the electricity price market is not regulated by the Energy Regulatory Office (URE), which automatically translates into the need to increase the prices of services and products. As an entrepreneur, you can protect yourself against electricity price increases by investing in photovoltaics for your company.

A photovoltaic installation generates electricity from sunlight - despite the large investment, it pays off quickly, especially in the case of companies. More and more Poles are choosing this solution: no wonder, because photovoltaics for companies brings many benefits, not only material ones.

Most often, however, photovoltaics for entrepreneurs are chosen due to large savings - they obviously depend on the size of the installation. The basic condition is the appropriate selection of the power of the photovoltaic installation to the energy demand of a given company. The correct power of the installation is crucial for the efficiency of the system and the costs related to electricity. Analysis of energy consumption allows for the optimization of the installation power, which ensures efficiency and savings for companies using solar energy.

Why is it worth investing in photovoltaics in your company?

Lower energy costs

Photovoltaics is a proven way to reduce electricity costs. Dynamic tariffs allow companies to further optimize their costs. Under these tariffs, the price of energy changes depending on the time of day and market demand. Companies can use energy at the cheapest times, which further increases savings. Photovoltaics is an effective method for optimizing costs in companies, emphasizing the importance of this technology in the context of environmental protection and the expected increase in the popularity of such installations.

Energy storage - additional efficiency

Energy storage allows for the storage of surplus energy produced from photovoltaics and its use at a later time, e.g. during periods of increased demand or when energy prices on the market are higher. Combining energy storage with dynamic tariffs allows companies to become independent from energy price fluctuations and achieve even greater benefits.

Sustainable development

Investing in photovoltaics is consistent with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategies. Producing energy from renewable sources reduces the company's carbon footprint and builds the image of a responsible enterprise.

Modern technologies

Intelligent energy management systems, combined with energy storage, allow companies to effectively use the energy produced and adapt it even better to their own needs.

By choosing a solution such as photovoltaics for your company, you become independent of electricity suppliers and avoid constant increases in electricity prices. What's more, you can sell the surplus produced to the power grid! The terms of resale are regulated by law, but many companies combine both solutions: saving and additionally earning at the same time.

By installing solar panels, you ensure your company's independence. Firstly, you are not burdened with increases in electricity prices: you consume what you produce. What's more, you do not have to worry about potential restrictions that occur when the power grid is overloaded, e.g. in the summer.

  • Independence from electricity suppliers
  • Freedom from constant price increases
  • You can sell the surplus produced to the power grid!

Photovoltaics in the company = environmentally friendly energy and good PR

Is it possible to obtain essentially free electricity by converting solar energy? And what's more, electricity that does not negatively affect the environment in which we live? Absolutely! The sun provides us with huge amounts of energy, which is a renewable source.

Renewable energy sources, such as solar energy, play a key role in reducing the negative impact on the environment.

Solar energy not only ensures that the Earth's surface temperature is maintained: we can also convert it into electricity! Electricity obtained from converting solar energy is environmentally friendly mainly because no carbon dioxide is emitted during this process. More and more companies - not only because of the savings, but also for good PR - are opting for this solution. A few years ago, only large corporations chose it, but now increasingly owners of medium and small companies are also deciding on photovoltaics.

VAT settlement rules

Settling VAT for photovoltaic installations for companies may seem complicated, but it is worth understanding the basic rules in order to be able to take advantage of the available reliefs and reduce investment costs. The standard VAT rate for photovoltaic systems is 23%. However, there are some exceptions that can reduce installation costs. For example, installations installed on residential buildings may be covered by a reduced VAT rate, which significantly affects the profitability of the investment. It is worth consulting a tax advisor to understand exactly what reliefs and exemptions may be available to your company.

Installation maintenance costs

The maintenance costs of a photovoltaic installation are relatively low, which makes them an attractive solution for companies. A photovoltaic installation is practically maintenance-free, which means that it does not require regular service interventions. According to the applicable regulations, the investor is obliged to carry out one comprehensive inspection every five years. Additionally, photovoltaic panels are covered by a long-term manufacturer's warranty, which can be from 10 to 25 years. Thanks to this, entrepreneurs can be sure that their installation will operate efficiently for many years, without having to incur high maintenance costs.

Types of photovoltaic installations

There are different types of photovoltaic installations that can be adapted to the specific needs of the company. The most popular are on-grid installations, which are connected to the power grid. They allow surplus energy produced to be sold to the grid, which can additionally increase savings. An alternative are off-grid installations, which use their own batteries to store surplus energy and are completely independent of the power grid. For companies that want to combine the advantages of both systems, hybrid installations may be the ideal solution. They combine the features of on-grid and off-grid installations, providing maximum flexibility and energy independence. The choice of the right type of installation depends on the specific needs and technical conditions of the company.

Important changes to regulations for 2025

  • Net-billing
  • A net-billing system has been in force since 2024, replacing the previous net-metering rules. Energy fed into the grid is billed based on hourly market rates, which promotes efficient management of energy production and consumption.
  • New prosumer definitions
  • Companies can use the virtual and collective prosumer options. This means that companies with multiple locations can share energy produced in one of them, which increases the efficiency of the investment.
  • Construction and environmental requirements
  • Installations with an area of more than 0.5 ha in protected areas require an environmental decision. For installations with a capacity of more than 6.5 kW, it is necessary to agree on the project in terms of fire protection and report it to the State Fire Service.
  • Tax relief and VAT changes
  • The planned reduction in VAT for installations installed on residential and public buildings may affect the costs of projects implemented by companies.
